Steve launched Compass Commercial Brokers LLC in 2010 with his partners , building on 15 years of experience in the Greater Portland commercial real estate market. After a successful 10-year career with CBRE/The Boulos Company. He has been involved in more than $1 3 0 million in sale/lease transactions in his career. Steve is highly experienced in the sale and leasing of retail, office , warehouse and investment real estate, and is uniquely proficient in assisting clients in repositioning their holdings to compete with new inventory in a challenging market place.

As a managing partner of Compass, he is working with his partners, Alan Peoples and Kevin McQuinn to grow and develop Compass Commercial as a progressive brokerage company dedicated and committed to their clients real estate needs. Steve’s clients have benefited from his unique ability in marketing commercial real estate with successful returns from re-imaging static properties which as an end result equates to lower vacancy levels and successful sale returns for his clients. With Steve’s unique approach, he has become a tremendous asset to many commercial property owners in greater Portland and has carried this approach through to Compass Commercial.

Steve also manages, owns and develops commercial real estate with his family’s development company. Steve is active in many local organizations and was appointed to the Old Port Task Force in 2007.

Alan has over 26 years of real estate experience, spending 23 of them as the owner/broker of a mid-size residential/investment firm in Southern Maine. Alan has served in various capacities on numerous real estate boards in the State of Maine, including past President of the Multiple Listing Service, Maine Real Estate Resource Center, and the Greater Portland Board of Realtors (GPBR). He currently is chair of the Grievance Committee for the GPBR and a member of the Scarborough Board of Assessment Review.

As a partner of Compass, Alan brings his experience and expertise to this progressive and forward thinking Real Estate Company. Jennifer’s appreciation of architecture, and experience in interior design and space planning served as a natural transition to joining the world of commercial real estate. Jennifer is an Associate Broker that specializes in house and office real estate.

Before joining Compass Commercial Brokers in 2013, Jennifer had a 20-year career in interior design, starting in her home town of New Canaan, CT. Her experience working with clients one on one has allowed her to fine tune her ability to help clients achieve the best fit for their needs as a business. She excels at assisting see past the structure itself, and instead envision what their next environment could look like.

Jennifer lives in Portland with her husband and four children. She lives an active and full lifestyle that inspires her approach in exceeding client expectations.

Josh Soley is a commercial real estate broker specializing in office, retail, and multi-family units. Josh has over five years of experience working in property management and real estate. He previously served as a property manager for Lincoln Center Property Management before creating SoleyCorp Property Management with the goal of assisting foreign investors acquire local assets. In addition to property management, Josh served as a Sales Agent with NAI before joining Compass in 2015. Today, Josh serves on the Program Committee of the Maine Real Estate Development Association.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Josh is an avid basketball players and political junkie. He earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a minor in Political Science. He has a regional focus in the Middle East and Northern Africa and specialized in International Securities and Diplomacy. Upon graduating Syracuse, Josh published an article in the Maxwell review titled Nuclear Supply Chains in the MENA Region: Leveraging the Nuclear Marketplace. If you would like to hear him rant about the changing balance of power, he is more than happy sit down with you.

A Maine native, Josh attended Freeport High School, where he played every sport he could get his hands on: basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee. In his rarely found spare time, Josh volunteers at the Preble Street Resource Center Soup Kitchen, coaches basketball at Waynflete Academy, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and his pets. He aspires to be a proficient guitar player and Arabic speaker.

John Golden had a successful career in New York as a fashion and food magazine writer, editor and publisher, then sold his interests in a national mass market publishing house and began his career in real estate in the late 1980s. Since then he brokered high-profile significant sales for Sotheby’s International Realty in New York City, the Hamptons and Palm Beach, Florida, and wrote a real estate gossip column for a national publication. He moved to Maine in 2002 and has been affiliated with Maine brokerage offices of Landvest, Sotheby’s and as principal at The John Golden Group where he brokered both commercial and residential sales. Since 2007 he has also been licensed in New York as an associate broker with Douglas Elliman with a focus on commercial and residential sales in Manhattan and the Hamptons and is responsible for completing significant sales to high-profile Wall Street buyers and sellers. He also is licensed with the John Golden Group, NY, in which his focus is commercial real estate, specializing in lodging, multi-family, retail and office properties. His latest NY sales include a Penn Station area retail building, a portfolio of hotel properties in midtown Manhattan and currently lists several properties including $100 million residential high rise on the Upper East Side; a $40 million development in-fill site in Midtown Manhattan and represents several national REITs as broker. In Maine he has brokered a variety of high-end condo deals and hotels including the Danforth Inn in Portland. He joined Compass Commercial Brokers in January 2017 as a Broker, where his focus is on condo and residential sales, lodging, multi-family and office properties.
